Surcos Urbanos offers this space for reflection and discussion.

What is shown here is the fruit of more than 15 years of involvement in social movements from a group of architects, ingenieers and urbanists. It includes also valuable contributions from collegas.

We are firmly convinced that the quality of life in our villages and cities will not be improved by means of a never ending extension of their urban areas.

The city at a human scale.. In collaboration with N-aerus and GIAUS, we intended to explore the main challenges to overcome urban inequality and to widen the scope of successful ongoing alternatives. And we intended to do it within the “development at a human scale” framework, applying its concepts to the City at a Human Scale, to promote an endogenous development and the use of plentiful and non conventional resources, such as solidarity, which increase when being shared.
